Improved coach–athlete communication

17 April, 2014 by David Johnstone

The way coaches and their athletes communicate through this site has been significantly improved, with the addition of a commenting system and notifications for key events.

Notifications are show in the top menu bar.

Clicking on it brings up a list of new notifications.

The “coach notes” field has been replaced by a private commenting system. Only the athlete and their coach can see this.

Notifications also happen for comments.

For coaches, notifications currently happen when:

  • One of your athletes uploads a new ride.
  • One of your athletes comments on one of their rides.

For athletes with coaches, notifications currently happen when:

  • A coach comments on your ride.

Let me know if you have ideas for how this can be improved.

Update: Notifications are now sent to coaches whenever an athlete comments on one of their rides, regardless of whether or not the coach has commented on it already.

Update 2: Notifications for new uploads can be disabled on the profile settings page.
